Madi Brust, Pre-licensed clinician
Madi holds a bachelor’s of art in interdisciplinary studies and is a master of counseling pre-licensed clinical intern from Arizona State University, supervised by Dr. Marlena Gonzales-Gabaldon, LPC.
Madi is EMDR trained and works with clients at all stages of development, including children and adolescents. She has experience treating concerns associated with anxiety, depression, stress, grief, marital distress, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. By integrating the concepts of mindfulness cognitive-behavioral therapy, existential therapy, gestalt therapy, and narrative therapy, Madi has created a holistic, solutions-focused approach to treatment that honors all aspects of the client’s unique self and the experiences that shape them.
“My clients have taught me more about the meaning of resilience than any text or story ever could. Their narratives embody my belief that people possess the power to overcome challenging feats and persevere, even in times of hopelessness. Pulling from the theory of opposites, my approach is not about transforming the darkness into light but rather allowing these polarities to coexist. In turn, I strive to provide an empathetic space where clients and I work collaboratively to unearth their strengths, balance their thoughts, and develop the skills necessary to sustain a lifetime of mental and emotional vitality.”
“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” -Albus Dumbledore
