Are you struggling with feelings of negative emotions that are paralyzing? Ever have thoughts such as "I'm not deserving, I'm not good enough, I'm a failure, or I can't trust myself"? Struggle with avoiding and denying reality? These can be healed and addressed with counseling and learning how to appropriately manage emotions through effective coping and healing of past traumas. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) is a form of treatment that allows the body to heal by eliminating the impact of negative beliefs from unresolved trauma and emotional distress.
I am trained, and utilize, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), DBT (Dialectic Behavioral Therapy), Mindfulness, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Trauma Informed Therapy, and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) in my practice.
The overarching goal for therapy is for clients to reduce distress (anger, anxiety, depression, fear, hopelessness), gain insight, and find meaning in one's life, for a more confident and hope-filled focus on the future.

“The nature of counseling is to act as a mirror to look at ourselves from within and to shine light of awareness into the darkest corners of the self and accept that in which we have control over and release that in which we do not.” -unknown
As a graduate level Counseling Intern, under the supervision of Dr. Marlena Gonzales-Gabaldon, LPC, I embrace an eclectic approach, however I incorporate my knowledge of somatic therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy to provide holistic care to clients. I draw inspiration from somatic therapy -- the concept of a body-mind connection and that our bodies carry narratives, preserving past experiences, traumas, and emotions. Then addressing the interplay between thoughts and behaviors, I help clients understand maladaptive thinking patterns and develop intervention plans tailored to their needs. My goal is to empower clients to gain self-awareness, examine their perceptions and reactions, and acquire skills to address their concerns to align their real and ideal self through person centered approaches.
In my spare time, I find joy in practicing yoga, immersing myself in nature, and indulging in reading. These activities allow me to recharge and maintain a balanced mindset. I also cherish moments spent with my cats and loved ones, as they provide a sense of connection and support that enhances my well-being. Alongside my therapeutic work, I continuously explore personal growth and self-care, recognizing the importance of nurturing myself to better serve those who seek my guidance.
